2025 Rotary Teacher & Student of the Year
Congratulations to our 2025 Rotary Teacher of the Year and Student of the Year recipients: Ms. Paige Staton & Adalynn!Ms. Staton works with our Kindergarten students and teaches math to our 1st-grade students. Her presence sets the tone for our younger students who will be at our school for years to come. Ms. Staton sets high expectations while being able to create a safe, encouraging environment for students to explore and grow. Our students are lucky to be able to share in her ethic and enthusiasm! Congratulations to Paige! Adalynn is a 7th-grade student who brings a shining personality to school every day. She has demonstrated confidence and responsibility in a way that has made her one of the most responsible students on campus. Whether it's academics, student council, or volleyball, Adalynn always gives her best effort while celebrating other students' success as well. Congratulations to Adalynn- we're so proud of you! Key to Success - Integrity Can you believe we have reached the final Key to Success for this school year? For the month of May, our Key to Success is Integrity. We explained to students that integrity means doing the right thing even when nobody is watching. We provided examples to students how what integrity looks like in school, including listening to teachers/instructional aides the first time, working together in things like group projects, and telling the truth even if it means admitting you made a mistake. PTO Meeting on Wednesday 5/7 We will have our final PTO meeting of the year on Wednesday. 5/7 at 2:45 pm! Come and see how you can help out with our end-of-the-year campus events, including Teacher Appreciation Week and Field Day! See you there! CAASPP Testing Schedule Continues Next Week We have had a great start to CAASPP testing! The students have showed tremendous preparation, focus, and persistence during this CAASPP testing week. Next week, we will continue with our CAASPP testing schedule to ensure that all students grades 3-8 complete their work and to to any make up testing for students who were absent this week. The CAASPP assessments help us better understand how your child is progressing, including where they may need extra support, as well as help us with renewing our Charter. We kindly ask for your help in making sure your child gets a good night’s rest and comes to school ready to do their best. Encouraging a positive mindset and consistent effort can make a big difference. Thank you for your support! Art Week 5/12-5/15 Art Week is just around the corner! During the week of 5/12-5/15, all students K-8 will be participating in Art Week. This means that during their school day, the only two subjects they will have is Art & PE. This allows our students to dive deep into different art projects and formats that they otherwise might not have the opportunity to explore. Be on the lookout for volunteer opportunities from your teachers. Students are encouraged to show up to school with a "can-do" attitude as they try new art! Save the Date - Art Gala 5/22 Save the date! Our Art Gala/Open House is scheduled for 5/22 at 6pm. This is the perfect opportunity to come and see the amazing work that your students have been working on during Art Week, get a chance to talk to your teacher, and join the Harvest Ridge community in celebrating another school year! More info on the Art Gala to come! Lost and Found Our lost and found collection is getting too big! Next week we'll have the lost and found items out front. If you suspect that your student has left some things behind at school, please come take a look so that you can collect what is yours. Thank you!
