OPEN ENROLLMENT PERIOD FOR
PLACER UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT
2025-2026
Open Enrollment/Intradistrict applications for Placer Union High School District are being accepted between January 6th and January 31st 2025. Please refer to PUHSD Open Enrollment/Intradistrict Board Policy 5116.1 on our district website for specific information and guidelines.
TO APPLY: The parent/guardian of the pupil requesting to attend a school other than their school of residence in our district must complete and submit the application, along with the most recent copies of attendance, grades and notice of any behavior issues to their school of residence and request an appointment with that principal. The completed form MUST be turned into the District Office no later than January 31, 2025 by 4:15 pm. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Track & Field Coach Needed!

• The season starts in mid-March and ends in mid-May.
• Last year, there were about 20 students on the team in 5th through 8th grade.
• The practice schedule is flexible. School gets out at 2:30 PM and there is no in-session school on Fridays. Last year's practice schedule was Mondays @ 2:45, Wednesdays @ 2:45, and Fridays @ 8:30 AM. This can be changed to meet the coach's schedule. 
• Practices are held at the school, located at 9050 Old State Highway in Newcastle. 
• Harvest Ridge competes against K-8 schools in Loomis. Meets are held at Franklin Elementary School and Placer Elementary School. 
• The meet schedule is located HERE on the league website. Keep in mind that it's a draft and might change slightly. 
• Meets are twice a week and last 2 - 2.5 hours. The league puts on mini meets as opposed to one long league meet a week. Once meets start, the team only practices once a week in conjunction with competitions.
• The coach needs to be fingerprinted and TB tested. The following certificates should also be provided: CPR, First Aid, Concussion, and Cardiac Arrest. 
• Stipend is $500 for the season.

Just a reminder that all payments being made for PTO sponsored school events need to include the Student's Name, Student's Grade, and the Event.
Ex: Suzy Q, 5th Grade, Overnight Field Trip
This helps ensure that the money going to the PTO Venmo is being applied to the right student for the right purpose. Thank you!
