From Placer Union High School District: OPEN ENROLLMENT PERIOD FOR PLACER UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT 2025-2026 Open Enrollment/Intradistrict applications for Placer Union High School District are being accepted between January 6th and January 31st 2025. Please refer to PUHSD Open Enrollment/Intradistrict Board Policy 5116.1 on our district website for specific information and guidelines. TO APPLY: The parent/guardian of the pupil requesting to attend a school other than their school of residence in our district must complete and submit the application, along with the most recent copies of attendance, grades and notice of any behavior issues to their school of residence and request an appointment with that principal. The completed form MUST be turned into the District Office no later than January 31, 2025 by 4:15 pm. NO EXCEPTIONS. Applications and procedures can be found on our website. School Spirit Day on 2/6 - Fancy Day! We’re excited to announce that Thursday 2/6 is Fancy Day at Harvest Ridge! Students are encouraged to dress their finest and show off their unique fancy flair. This is a chance to have fun and get creative with their wardrobe! Here are some ideas for what "fancy" could look like: 🎩 Bow ties, suspenders, and button-up shirts 👗 Sparkly dresses, ruffles, or elegant outfits 👑 Fancy hats, gloves, or costume jewelry 👞 Polished shoes or dressy flats 🎀 Hair accessories, stylish scarves, or elegant ties There’s no need to buy anything new — students can get creative by mixing and matching what they already have at home. Fancy Day is all about having fun, expressing creativity, and celebrating our school spirit together! 6th - 8th Grade Dance on Thursday 2/6 Our next 6th-8th Grade Dance will be on Thursday 2/6 from 6:00-8:00 pm! Student Council will be selling tickets to the dance before school for $10 each. Girls Volleyball Sign Ups Attention 7th & 8th Grade Girls! Our Girls Volleyball team will be returning this Spring with Ms. Staton as the head coach! Right now we are gauging how many girls we will have interested in playing and we're still waiting on information from the league as far as games and practices. We explained to students how December is typically a big community month, with lots of gatherings, fundraising, celebrations, etc., but now that we're in January we don't want the sense of community to disappear! We explained to students that being a successful community member means being involved and looking out for others. Electronics Policy Since returning from break we noticed that many students have some fun new gadgets, including smart watches, cameras, and other toys. Per our Student/Parent Handbook (see page 17), these types of devices are not allowed to be used on campus unless given permission to do so by our staff.
