Please note that all consumable items remain the property of Harvest Ridge and must be returned once the student dis-enrolls or is no longer using the items.

Instructional Funds

Instructional funds as noted are for students enrolled for the full year. Funds are pro-rated for students who enroll after the first day of school.
​All use of funds must be approved by the student's teacher and related to their educational program.

Technology

Students may use Instructional Funding to purchase approved technology for their program.  All technology remains the property of Harvest Ridge Cooperative Charter School, and is returnable at the end of the student's enrollment.  Families are responsible for returning equipment in good working condition.  Harvest Ridge will not be responsible for repairs due to student damage.

​What are some things I can use my instructional funding for?
  • Art supplies connected to enrichment classes or unit lessons in curriculum.
  • Novels, unit lessons, reading improvement programs, writing improvement, enrichment in literature, etc.
  • Course work materials, such as academic textbooks, workbooks, and curriculum materials
  • Academic programs (online curriculum, homeschool curriculum, activities, etc.)
  • Educational games related to math, science, English, STEAM, etc. (puzzles, bingo, vocabulary cards, flashcards, etc.)
  • Activity kits related to core or extracurricular classes
  • Physical Education and sport/athletic items (one per student) if they are considered non-consumables. Examples include items such as balls, bats, jump ropes, etc.
  • Educational items​, manipulatives

What are some things I can not use my instructional funding for?
  • Anything labeled non-educational
  • Any religious based products
  • Any furniture, organizational products, storage, laptop case/bags, keyboards, household items
  • Personal items such as uniforms, pads, shoes, cups, mouth guards or items that cannot be considered non-consumable
  • Any expenses involved in athletic competitions including entrance fees, or travel fees
  • Large items such as bicycles and backyard trampolines
  • Household products, yard equipment, clothes, non-educational toys​, food, animals, first aid, and personal hygiene items
What is the definition of consumable?
​Consumables are items that the student uses up and therefore the item can not be used another student. 

What is the definition of a non-consumable?

Non-consumables are items that can be used again by another family. 

How can I view my Instructional Funding account?

Your teacher will share a link so that you can view your Instructional Funding account at any time.

Can I be reimbursed for any purchases I made through my own money?

Yes, Harvest Ridge will reimburse for purchases made by families, provided the family has received prior approval from their teacher.  Please make sure to review any personal purchases with your teacher PRIOR to spending.  Please note that reimbursements will NOT be made for items purchased with a gift card.

Can I keep the products purchased with my Instructional Funding?

All items are purchased through the school with state education funds and are considered property of the school. Non- consumables need to be returned to the Harvest Ridge office before the student withdraws from HRCCS,  or you may return items to your teacher when the items are no longer needed for student learning.  Families will be charged for non-consumable Items that have been damaged or destroyed. 

Can I purchase my own laptop or technology items with my Instructional Funding?

Please consult with your teacher for any technology purchases.  Chromebooks are provided for students in grades 3-8 as requested.

Can I purchase subscriptions and memberships with my Instructional Funding?

Yes, subscriptions and memberships can be purchased for educational magazines, field trip membership options, monthly educational curriculum/STEM boxes, etc.  Monthly/annual memberships or subscriptions are covered using a prorated system, where the beginning date of the proration is the date the membership or subscription was purchased and the ending date is the last day of school.

Can I use all of my Instructional Funding in the first trimester?

Students may use half of their instructional funding through the end of December.  The other half of the funding will be released for use beginning in January.
